This Privacy Policy explains how the Workington AFC mobile application ("the App") handles information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about what data we collect and why.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
The App is primarily a read-only experience for fans. Most users do not create an account and we do not collect personal information from them.
Club administrators may sign in to manage content (fixtures, news, standings, sponsors, match reports). For admin users we store only the information needed to operate the admin panel (such as a session identifier).
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) when the App contacts our servers. These are used to operate and troubleshoot the service and are not used to identify individual users.
- The App does not use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, location tracking, or behavioural tracking.
1.3 Device permissions
- Photos / Media (admin only): requested if an administrator chooses to upload an image (team badge, news photo, sponsor logo). Images are uploaded to our servers and stored with the related content.
- The App does not request location, contacts, microphone, or camera permissions for general users.
2. How We Use Information
- To deliver club content (fixtures, results, league tables, news, sponsors, match reports).
- To allow club administrators to sign in and manage content.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the App.
3. Data Storage and Security
Content and admin session data are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Replit's infrastructure. We use industry-standard security practices to protect data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. No system is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard the limited information the App processes.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share information only:
- With our hosting provider (Replit) to the extent needed to run the App.
- If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Workington AFC, our users, or the public.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location (e.g. UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
7. Third-Party Links and Content
The App may display links to third-party content (e.g. YouTube videos for match highlights and post-match interviews). When you interact with these, the third-party's own privacy policy applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will be updated when we do. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
